What the work is

A recruiter finds the right people and brings them into the company. They clarify with the hiring manager who is needed and why, write clear job descriptions, search for candidates on job sites and social networks, run first interviews, arrange meetings with the team and stay with the candidate until their first day. A good recruiter is equally honest with the company and with the candidate.

A typical day

Going through new applications and making short calls to candidates. Sourcing for a hard vacancy: a data analyst who knows SQL. Two video interviews. Agreeing a time for the final interview with the manager. Feedback to candidates who did not get through — polite and specific. Updating the hiring pipeline.
