What the work is

A marketer helps a product find its customers. They study the market and the audience, put into words why the product beats the alternatives, choose the channels — from Telegram and Instagram to outdoor ads and events — plan the budget, launch campaigns and measure the results: reach, leads, sales and the cost of winning a customer.

A typical day

Reviewing last week’s results by channel. Briefing the designer and the SMM specialist on a new promotion. Setting up a small test of two ad messages. A meeting with sales about the questions customers ask most. Preparing next month’s launch plan for a new product.

How to start

  • Learn the basics of marketing: segmentation, positioning, the funnel, the marketing mix.
  • Get to know the digital tools: ad platforms, web analytics, UTM tags, A/B tests.
  • Run a small campaign of your own — for a student club, a local business or your own project — and measure the result.
  • Confirm your knowledge with the Digital marketing test on the platform.
