Methodology
Coverage and response
Platform data, not official statistics. Coverage shows how much of the real cohort the Platform's numbers describe.
Not every student registers on the Platform, and not every graduate answers surveys. Those who do may differ from the rest: for example, they may be more active job seekers. That is why the Platform shows coverage and the response rate next to every figure — a number cannot be read correctly without them.
Student coverage
- Coverage = students of the cohort on the Platform ÷ the cohort's headcount.
- The numerator comes in two variants: everyone who named the university, and confirmed students only.
- The cohort's headcount (by field or faculty, level and graduation year) is entered by the university, accepted from a trial match with its list, or taken from official data. These are aggregate numbers only, with no data about people.
- When no headcount is set, coverage is not shown: the Platform says "headcount not set".
- Coverage is shown only when at least 10 students of the cohort are on the Platform, and it is computed from their number rounded to 5: the university knows its headcount exactly, so a more precise share would give away the exact number. Above 100 % it shows as ">100%".
Survey response rate
- A wave's response rate = respondents ÷ those invited in that wave.
- Only graduates who have not opted out of surveys and who accepted the version of the consent to data processing that lists surveys are invited.
- The response rate is computed for each wave (3, 6 or 12 months after graduation) and shown next to every employment rate.
Outcome coverage
- Outcome coverage = graduates of the cohort whose employment status at the reference point is known ÷ graduates of the cohort.
- The denominator is the cohort's graduates on the Platform or, when the university has entered the size of the graduating class, that number. The Platform states which denominator was used.
- The status may be known not only from a survey, but also from a final hire through the Platform or from what the graduate marked in their account (see the outcomes methodology).
Coverage labels
A label is shown next to the figure:
- "high" — 50 % or more;
- "medium" — from 25 to 50 %;
- "low" — under 25 %: the figure describes only a small part of the cohort, so draw conclusions with care.
Estimated graduation months
When the graduation month is unknown, July of the graduation year is taken as the reference. The share of such graduates is shown next to the outcome figures: the higher it is, the less precise the "3, 6 and 12 months" timing.
What coverage does not fix
High coverage does not make the sample random. The Platform does not weight its data to official counts; weighting and comparison with official statistics are planned for later.
